Super friends of Goodbye, Carbon, Helen Hunt and Matthew Carnahan, generously welcomed us and others to their home on L.A.’s Westside a week and change ago (3/19/12) for a Monday night release party of our eponymous debut CD. (Pictured above and below in video screen grabs by Steve Christensen, way below w/ helpful name tags.)
With sublime wine, cheese and mini cupcakes chosen, or more aptly, curated, by foodie MC (one of the few times nowadays when using “curated” is actually apt), the evening was both auspicious (for us GC members) and delicious (for all).
Carla, who came west to make it all possible, joined Pete and Brad to play four songs from the record, as well as “1979” by the Smashing Pumpkins. Daphne Chen, whose dulcet (string) tones also grace the record, graced all of us with her presence and (violin) playing.
Venerable KCRW deejay, music sup and surfer, Liza Richardson (currently of MC’s hit Showtime series “House of Lies”), was in the house, as was not-at-all-gray eminence, Robin Ruzan.
Helen and MC went above and beyond the call of hosting-with-the-mosting by making everyone feel so comfortable and welcome. Big thanks, also, to Moon Blauner and Ian Congdon for their ongoing support and help on everything from video to hand-holding (and then some).
Thanks to everyone who came or cares.
